Laura Heubner

Laura Heubner began serving the church as Office Secretary in April, 1992. She and her husband Kevin are co-owners of Heubner Tires, Inc. They are the parents of three sons, Matthew (wife Liz), Eric (wife Cody), and Jeff, are grandparents to four grandchildren: Brooke, Kyle, Mason and Regan. Laura enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading and traveling. She served as a hospice volunteer for 19 years and retired in December, 2008.

Laura has served under five pastors to date and with each of the pastors guidance and support has brought changes to the church office. One of the most valuable tools the office has is a church management program titled "Shepherds Staff." It assists the office in keeping track of members, friends and children as well as their birthdates, wedding anniversaries and grade in school. There is an attedance module that helps track worship attendance and as Financial Secretary of the church the Contribution Module helps to track members and friends donations to the church. One area that the office is looking to improve is communication. E-mail is a tremendous help in getting news out to our congregation. If you are not receiving the "Morning Manna" each week by e-mail, we ask that you send your e-mail address to the church office. Another way to get news to you is thru our Facebook page.

Laura is a member of the Petersburg United Methodist Church and feels that even though she is an employee of the church she has been "called" to serve Jesus a number of times. One of the calls came in the fall of 2005. She wanted couples, families and friends to come together to share a meal around the community table. Thus, Community Table began January, 2006. Over the years Community Table has grown in numbers and now friends and families gather to share a family style home cooked meal twice a month. Community Table has given monetary donations to the Menard County Food Bank, Co-Op Vacation Bible School, Mini O'Bierne Crisis Nursery in Springfield, Your Obedient Servant Ministry, Sr. High United Methodist Youth for their mission trip, to the MidWest Distribution Center in Chatham and to the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox ministry.

The church office is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 12 Noon (closed on Friday's June-August.)
